1. General Information
1.1 What is an OUPC Membership Programme?
It is an exclusive membership designed to support parents, students, booklovers and educators. Members receive educational and reading-related resources, early access to events, and special discounts on OUPC products and partner services. You can also earn membership points for every direct purchase through the official OUPC Online Store (https://shop.oupchina.com.hk/) and official OUP event booths.

1.2 What are the membership tiers and benefits?
The Membership Programme consists of three tiers: Basic Membership, Gold Membership and Diamond Membership and the tier status is determined by Membership Points accumulation annually:
- Basic Membership: Upon successful registration
- Gold Membership: ≥ 1,800 Points accumulated
- Diamond Membership: ≥ 5,000 Points accumulated

1.3 How do I join the OUPC Membership Programme?
You can register directly through the official OUP Online Store (https://shop.oupchina.com.hk/) by completing a simple sign‑up form and provide your basic details to start enjoying member-only benefits.

1.4 How long does the membership last?
Once you join, your membership remains active so you can continue to receive OUPC product offers, reading and educational resouces, and promotional news for as long as the programme is available.
2. Points & Rewards
2.1 How do I earn Membership Points?
You earn Membership Points by making purchases directly through our OUP Online Store (https://shop.oupchina.com.hk/) or at events organized or attended by us (e.g., at the Hong Kong Book Fair).
Note: Membership Points cannot be earned from purchases made at third-party retailers or bookstores.
2.2 Do my Membership Points expire?
Membership Points will expire on 31 March every year. Any points that have reached the expiration date will be automatically forfeited and reset.
For example: If you spend HKD5,000 on 31 December 2026, you will immediately be upgraded to Diamond Membership. Your membership tier will be valid until 31 March 2028 but your membership points will forfeit on 31 March 2027.
However, if your member points balance is less than 5,000 points before 31 March 2028, your member points will be reset to 0 on 1 April 2028, and your membership tier will be downgraded to Gold Membership.
2.3 How can I see my point balance?
Log in to your account on the official OUP Online Store (https://shop.oupchina.com.hk/). Your current balance and tier status will be displayed in the "My Account" or "Loyalty Rewards" section.
2.4 What can I use my Membership Points for?
Membership Points are used to determine which member tier you belong to, they will be used to calculate and maintain your member tier.
3. Membership Tiers & Exclusive Perks
3.1 What are the different membership tiers?
We currently offer different membership tiers, including Basic, Gold and Diamond. Higher tiers enjoy deeper discounts and more exclusive invitations.
3.2 How do I move up to the next tier?
Tier status is determined by your cumulative spending within April 1 - March 31 every year. As you reach specific spending milestones, your account will be automatically upgraded.
4. Account & Technical Support
4.1 How do I update my personal information (like email or birthday)?
Log in to your profile on the official OUP Online Store (https://shop.oupchina.com.hk/) to edit your details, However, your email, birthday and contact number cannot be changed.
4.2 My points or rewards aren't showing up. What should I do?
System will take no more than 48 hours to update the membership points after an online purchase.
For the machine-printed receipt from official OUP event booths, please upload the receipt within 7 days of the invoice date stated on the receipt. Once verified, Membership Points will be credited within 14 days after receipt submission.
If they are still missing, contact our support team with your invoice or receipt number at xxx@oup.com.
4.3 I forgot my password, how to reset it?
Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. You will receive an email with instructions to create a new, secure password.
4.4 Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, you may cancel your membership at any time by contacting our customer service department. Please note that all accumulated points and status will be forfeited upon cancellation.
